InshaAllah, this year it is intended to do more with the Musallahs in Joondalup. However, we need more participation and respresentatives from the JO campus. Can everyone who is interested, please place their email addresses on the mailing list from this website.

New Location – Musallah at Mt Lawley

February 24, 2007

Please be advised that the Musallah is now at a new location following the construction work. It is now situated behind building 16 across from the new Sports and Recreation Centre. The facility is now fully functional again, with water and power connected. Access to the facility is now complete with the platform and the paving having been done.

The mussallahs have now been cleaned for the start of the new semester. Please note the change in the qibla direction. Please do not leave any of your personal stuff in the rooms longer than necessary. Any pamphlets or literature placed in the rooms have to be sanctioned by the committee.

There are cleaning implements available, so please keep the place tidy. The sponge mops should be used to wipe away excess water after ablutions. Please also make sure that there are no strong food odours in the rooms before leaving.

The committee wishes all students a successful and prayerful year. Ameen.

Freshers Fair Orientation Day Report

February 15, 2007

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem.

15th February 2007

Well the event passed and it was an interesting experience. There was a lot of hard work to start with coupled with a little bit of mayhem. Eventually though, we got started. Thanks a great deal to the super efforts of sr Shernaaz, Sami, Sharon (DP), Susan (DP), Marwan and Caine. Thanks also to Fozzil who had the volunteers purchase their food from our stall.

Although the halaal food from the Danish Patisserie (DP) was priced cheaply, we were outdone by the Guild and the free barbecue and eventually by the rain.

At the end, everyone enjoyed themselves, because there were a lot of freebies. People were surprised to receive so much free stuff from our ECUIS stall.

Freshers Fair Orientation Day

February 9, 2007

ECUIS will be hosting a stall at the Freshers Fair Orientation Day to be held at Mt Lawley campus on Thursday 15th February 2007 from 12.30pm to 2.30pm. The event will be taking place at the Pavilion Court which is in front of building 12.

Food from the Danish Patisserie which is certified Halaal will be available at give away prices starting at 2 medium size party sausage rolls for a $1.50 with nothing over $1.50. To enhance the savoury experience, tomato, barbecue and sweet-chilli sauces will be available for free. Drinks will also be provided free of charge by International Student Support (ISS) via the University. This is a must attend event for all students.

Regrettably, due to lack of resources ECUIS will not hold a stall at the Joondalup campus.

All are welcome to attend.
